It is important to not just create, but to also give back. To cultivate community is to feed into culture.

Cabbages & Kings has always been about the students. The publication is built on the creations that students provide. To help grow both submissions and class creativity we hosted weekly meets, that revolved around the fundamentals in connecting and creating work together.
It starts with submissions.
It Then comes the building. The stress of free reign is something that can consume but to buckle under pressure would let others down. We took inspiration in scrapbooking and various “trash” objects as well as basic notebooks that we inspire others to decorate and design on their own. Cultivating indivuality in their own copy.
Work it out.
It Cordinating for one big project is always difficult. As the officers went into the academic year, none of us had any prior experience with organizing such a large task. Organizing production from ideation to creation involved many hiccups but also produced learning experiences that were vital. Learning how to sequence, screening through submissions as a group, and creating the collage were things we all did together.
It’s a project I am extremely proud of and honored to be part of. If you ask me, I’d gladly discuss it further.
